Amid rising costs, environmental requirements, and increasingly strict regulations, implementing an Energy Management System (EnMS) has become essential.

ISO 50001: Why the Energy Management System is Becoming Essential

During the webinar co-organized by Qualisteo in partnership with JM Polymers, the speakers emphasized that theISO 50001 standard is a real lever for performance and sustainability.

The obligation to implement an EnMS applies to companies considered large consumers, i.e., those with an annual total consumption exceeding 2.75 GWh*.

Beyond regulatory compliance, the goal is to understand how to sustainably reduce consumption.

Manage Your Energy with Qualisteo Tools

Implementing an EnMS requires reliable and actionable data. Qualisteo offers a unique measurement technology (the Lynx meter) and a detailed analysis platform for electricity consumption ( Wattseeker) capable of real-time monitoring of each energy use in an industrial site.

Thanks to its sensors and analysis platform, Qualisteo identifies savings opportunities, detects deviations, and monitors corrective actions. This gives energy managers a clear view of consumption and potential issues.

Qualisteo also supports its clients throughout their ISO 50001 journey, from the initial diagnosis to compliance and post-certification monitoring.

How JM Polymers Reduced Its Electricity Consumption by €100,000

Zineb Mrabbadj from JM Polymers explains how her company implemented an EnMS using Qualisteo’s solutions. According to her, in 2022, when electricity prices soared, the company suffered from a lack of data on electricity consumption.

Within a few months, with Qualisteo’s support, JM Polymers implemented concrete solutions. First, a consumption mapping identified the most energy-intensive equipment and poor practices. Then, the teams implemented and monitored a targeted action plan.

Thanks to these measures, JM Polymers quickly reduced its electricity consumption by about 5%, saving €100,000 on the bill in just a year and a half.

Investing in a More Energy-Efficient Industry

This example clearly shows that investing in energy efficiency is a competitive advantage. By relying on accurate data and being supported by the right experts, manufacturers can reduce their production costs.

The obligation to implement an EnMS should not be seen solely as a regulatory constraint. It is above all an opportunity to better control costs and become more competitive.

You Too Can Implement an Energy Management System

With Qualisteo, energy management becomes a lever for profitability. If you also want to implement an EnMS in your company and achieve substantial energy savings, a Qualisteo energy management expert will support you. Request your personalized study by clicking here..
