Qualisteo innovates to optimize pumping at the Haliotis 2 plant

Qualisteo, a company specializing in energy optimization and intelligent consumption analysis, is conducting an artificial intelligence project applied to the control of the pumping units at the Haliotis 2 wastewater treatment plant. This project is being carried out in collaboration with its public partners, the Nice Côte d’Azur Metropolis through the Régie Eau d’Azur.
Objective
The goal is to put technological innovation at the service of energy performance and ecological transition. The algorithms developed by Qualisteo, integrated into the control systems of the operator in charge of plant management, enable real-time optimization of facility operations.
Very promising results already
Up to 25% potential energy savings in the operation of pumping units, with no compromise on service quality or network safety.
This approach illustrates the ability of public and private stakeholders to combine their expertise to address energy and environmental challenges, while contributing to the innovation dynamic driven by the French Tech ecosystem.
“This initiative demonstrates that technology can concretely help reduce the energy footprint of public infrastructure,” explains Olivier Marchand, operations manager of the Haliotis 2 project.
“Qualisteo is proud to bring its expertise to a project with strong environmental impact, carried out with committed partners. At the national scale, potential gains of 1 to 3% in the energy consumption of wastewater treatment plants could be achievable, equivalent to around 0.5 TWh per year – the consumption of 150,000 French households,” adds Sébastien Papin, Director of the Environment Business Unit at Qualisteo.
