The KMS plant in Senegal relies on Qualisteo to boost its energy efficiency
The KMS 3 drinking water production plant in Senegal is equipping itself with an energy management system and targeting 15% savings.

In a context where energy weighs increasingly heavily on operating costs, optimising every kilowatt-hour has become a strategic challenge. In Senegal, where electricity prices are among the highest in the region, SEN'EAU (a subsidiary of the Suez Group) is taking action.
KMS: the heart of Dakar's drinking water supply
Located 250 kilometres from Dakar, the Keur Momar Sarr (KMS) plant plays a vital role: it supplies up to 300,000 m³ of drinking water per day to the capital, equivalent to three-fifths of its consumption.

For SEN'EAU, the operator of the site, controlling its energy bill is no longer optional. It is an absolute priority to ensure sustainable, reliable and competitive production.
Objectives: see, understand and optimise every energy use
To identify the real levers for efficiency, SEN'EAU now relies on Qualisteo's expertise. The deployed solution combines:
- Lynx units: electric sub-meters installed across the entire site to precisely measure the electricity consumption of more than 160 pieces of equipment;
- The Wattseeker platform, an energy management software enabling the monitoring, analysis and management of energy performance.
This precise and continuous visibility opens the way to fast, informed and profitable decisions.
A strong ambition
The savings achieved will be closely monitored, but the first estimates are already promising: up to 15% reduction in energy consumption.
This is a powerful lever to reduce operating costs, lower the carbon footprint and strengthen the resilience of a site that is essential to Dakar's water supply.
Implement a Smart Metering solution in your plant too
Like SEN'EAU, you have the opportunity to achieve substantial savings on the energy consumption of your industrial site through innovative energy optimisation solutions.
