Qualisteo, a company specialising in energy optimisation and intelligent consumption analysis, is leading an artificial intelligence project applied to the control of pumping units at the Haliotis 2 wastewater treatment plant. This project is carried out in collaboration with its public partners, the Métropole de Nice Côte-d'Azur through the Régie Eau d'Azur.
Objective
The objective is to harness technological innovation in the service of energy performance and ecological transition. The algorithms developed by Qualisteo, integrated into the control systems of the operator in charge of the facility, enable real-time optimisation of the plant's operation.
Already very promising results
Up to 25% potential energy savings on the operation of the pumping units, without compromise on quality of service or network security.
This approach illustrates the ability of public and private actors to combine their expertise to address energy and environmental challenges, while contributing to the innovation dynamic driven by the French Tech ecosystem.
"This initiative demonstrates that technology can make a concrete contribution to reducing the energy footprint of public infrastructure", explains Olivier Marchand, project manager for Haliotis 2.
"We are proud to put our expertise at the service of a project with a strong environmental impact, carried out with committed partners. At the national level, gains of 1 to 3% on the energy consumption of wastewater treatment plants could be envisaged, i.e. approximately 0.5 TWh per year - the equivalent of the consumption of 150,000 French households", adds Sébastien Papin, Director of the Environment Business Unit at Qualisteo.
